José Alberto Pina (born 1984 in Cartagena, Murcia) is a Spanish composer. Pina studies percussion and conducting at the Murcia Conservatorie of Music. He also took advanced courses with José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, Jerzy Salwarosky, John Phillips (King’s College, London), César Álvarez, Jan Cober, Paolo Bellomia (University of Montreal), Frank de Vuyst, Thomas Verrier, Manuel Hernández Silva, and Lutz Kholer at the Universität der Künste (UDK) in Berlin. He is the winner of the first “City of San Vicente del Raspeig” Orchestral Conducting Competition and the “City of Puertollano” Wind Band Conducting Competition. Pina was also awarded first prize in the Composition Competition “La Font de la Figuera.”
