John Williams, geboren in New York am 8. Februar 1932. Seit 1954 studierte er bei Rosina Lhevinne an der Juilliard School und spielte in Jazz Clubs. Wieder an der West Coast, inskribierte er an der University of California in Los Angeles und nahm Privatunterricht bei Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Als Studio-Pianist sowie als Arrangeur und Komponist für Columbia Records ist er in Hollywood tätig. Seit 1980 leitet er das Boston Pops Orchestra. (Aus: Suppan, Neue Blasmusiklexikon)

John Williams was born on the 8th of February 1932. Since 1954 he studied at Rosina Lhevinne at the Juilliard school and he played in Jazz clubs. Back at the west coast he inscribed at the University of California in Los Angeles and he took privat lessons at the Castel-nuovo-Tedesco. As studio piano player as well as arranger and com-poser for Columbia Records he is working in Hollywood. Since 1980 he is leading the Boston Pops Orchestra.

Il travaille en tant que pianiste de studio et aussi comme arrangeur et compositeur pour Columbia Records. Il dirige l'orchestre Boston Pops depuis 1980.
