Dr. Jared Spears ist Professor der Musik an der "Arkansas State University" in Jonesboro. Er wurde in Chicago, Illinois geboren und erhielt das "B.S.E." Diplom für Musikausbildung an der "Northern Illinois University", das "B.M." und "M.M." Diplom für Percussion und Komposition an der "Cosmopolitan School of Music" und das "D.M." Diplom für Komposition an der "Northwestern University". Einige seiner Lehrer waren Blythe Owen, Alan Stout und Anthony Donato. Spears unterrichtete Theorie, Geschichte, Komposition, Percussion und Band auf allen Ausbildungsniveaus von Grundschule bis College. Einer seiner höchsten Preise war der "Faricy Award for Creative Music" von der "Northwestern University School of Music", sowie der "Award of Merit" von der "Arkansas Chapter of the National Federation of Music Clubs", weiters der Preis der "Outstanding Educator of America" und der "International Who's Who in Music" und "Who's Who in the World of Percussion". Er komponierte mehr als 250 Originalwerke für Band, Chor, Orchester und Kammerensembles. Ein Großteil davon wurde von amerikanischen und europäischen Firmen veröffentlicht. Seine Musik wurde weltweit aufgeführt und aufgezeichnet. Er dirigierte Bandfestivals, Camps und Vorträge in den Vereinigten Staaten, Norwegen, Europa, Canada und er ist in Universitäten auch als Gastdirigent aufgetreten.

Dr. Jared Spears is Professor of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and received the B.S.E. degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University, the B.M. and M.M. in Percussion and Composition from the Cosmopolitan School of Music, and the D.M. in Composition from Nortwestern University. Some of his teachers were Blythe Owen, Alan Stout, and Anthony Donato. Spears has tought theory, history, composition, percussion and band on all educational levels from elementary school through college. The most outstanding of his awards have been the Faricy Award fro Creative Music from Northwestern University School of Music, Award of Merit from the Arkansas Chapter of the National Federation of Music Clubs, Outstanding Educators of America, International Who's Who in Music and Who's Who in the World of Percussion. To date he has composed over 250 original works for band, choir, orchestra, and chamber ensembles - a majority of which are published by American and European companies. His music has been performed and recorded worldwiede, and he has conducted band festivals, camps, and clinics in the United States, Norway, Europe and Canada, and has appeared at universities as a guest lucturer.
