Jay Bocook, ein Komponist, Arrangeur, Dirigent und Lehrer wurde in Clearwater, Florida geboren. Er erhielt an der "Northeast Louisiana University" ein "Master of Music Degree", wo er als Arrangeur und Dirigent der Konzertband tätig war. Nach Vollendung seiner Diplomarbeit zog Herr Bocook nach South Carolina um an der "Travelers Rest High School" als Banddirektor zu arbeiten. Mit dieser Band erhielt er den höchsten Preis: "The Citation of Excellence". Während dieser Zeit schrieb Jay Bocook auch noch Musik für die "Jenson Publications of Milwaukee". Diese Beziehung wurde 1980 zu einem Ganzzeitjob als Jenson's Direktor von instrumentalen Publikationen. In den nächsten Jahren etablierte er sich als einer der größten Komponisten und Arrangeure im ganzen Land. Er schrieb auch die Eröffnungs- und Schlußzeremonie der 1984 Olympischen Spiele in Los Angeles. 1982 wurde er als Banddirektor der "Furman University" ernannt und während der ganzen 80-iger Jahre waren seine Bands als eine der besten Ensembles in der ganzen Nation angesehen. Derzeit ist Herr Bocook als Gastdirigent und Vortragender in den USA und Canada tätig. Seine publizierten Werke sind schon zu einem Katalog von mehr als 300 Stücken angewachsen. Er beinhaltet Werke für Orchester, symphonische Band, Marschband und Jazzensemble. Im Moment ist er auch Assistentdirektor des "Greenville Symphony Orchestra" und er komponiert bzw. arrangiert auch für Hal Leonard Publishing.

Jay Bocook, composer, arranger, conductor and educator is a native of Clearwater, Florida. He completed a Master of Music Degree from Northeast Louisiana University, where he served as staff arranger and conductor of the concert band. Upon completion of this graduate work, Mr. Bocook moved to South Carolina as director of bands at Travelers Rest High School, where he built the program into a nationally recognized organization culminating with the National Band Association's highest prize: "The Citation of Excellence". While at Travelers Rest, Mr. Bocook also was writing music for Jenson Publications of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This relationship flourished into his full-time appointment as Jenson's Director of Instrumental Publications in 1980. Over the next few years he established himself as one of the top composers and arrangers in the country. His accomplishments include writing arrangements for the opening and closing ceremonies at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 1982, he was appointed director of bands at Furman University, and throughout the 1980's his symphonic and marching bands were respected as among the top collegiate ensembles in the nation. Mr. Bocook now maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor and clinician in the U.S. and Canada. His publication catalog has grown to more than three hundred pieces, including works for orchestra, symphonic band, marching band, and jazz ensemble. Mr. Bocook is presently Assistant Conductor of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and condinues as an exklusive composer and arranger for Hal Leonard Publishing.
