Elliot Del Borgo wurde in Port Chester, New York geboren. Er erhielt an der "State University of New York" ein B.S. Diplom, sowie an der "Temple University" ein Ed.M. Diplom und an der "Philiadelphia Conservatory", wo er unter Vincent Persichetti Theorie und Komposition und unter Gilbert Johnson Trompete studierte ein M.M. Diplom. 1993 wurde er als Mitglied der "American Bandmaster Association" gewählt. Herr Del Borgo lehrte instrumentale Musik an der "Philadelphia Public School" und derzeit ist er Professor der Musik an der "Crane School of Music" wo er seit 1965 Lehr- und Administrationstätigkeiten inne hat. Als preisgekröntes Mitglied von ASCAP ist er häufiger Berater und Vortragender und er ist als als Band- und Orchesterdirigent weit bekannt. Zusätzlich zu seiner Musik für die 1980 Olympiade veröffentlichte Del Borgo zahlreiche Kompositionen für verschiedene Medien. Seine Musik reflektiert die Ästhetik des 20.Jahrhunderts durch seine energische Harmonie und den rhythmischen Stil.

Elliot Del Borgo was born in Port Chester, New York. He holds a B.S. degree from the State University of New York, an Ed. M. Degree from Temple University, and a M.M. degree from the Philadelphia Conservatory where he studied theory and composition with Vincent Persichetti and trumpet with Gilberg Johnson. In 1973 he was granted the doctoral equivalency by the State University of New York, and was elected to membership in the American Bandmasters Association in 1993. Mr. Del Borgo has tought instrumental music in the Philadelphia Public Schools and is currently Professor of music at the Crane School of Music, where he has held teaching and administrative positions since 1965. An award-winning member of ASCAP, he is a frequent consultant, clinician, lecturer, and adjudicator and is a widely known conductor of bands and orchestras. In addition to his music for the 1980 Olympics, Mr. Del Borgo has published numerous compositions for a variety of media. His music reflects the aesthetics of twentieth century musical ideals through its eclectic nature and vigorous harmonic and rhythmic style.
