Louis Bloom wurde 1931 in Los Angeles geboren. Er studierte Musik mit dem Hauptfach Komposition von 1949-1953 an der University of California in Los Angeles, zuletzt bei Lukas Foss. Von 1955-1958 war er an der Hochschule für Musik in Wien bei Alfred Uhl. Er studierte das Fach Musikwissenschaft bei Thrasybulos Georgiades an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München von 1958-1961. Seit 1958 lebt er in München und seit 1962 ist als freischaffender Komponist, Arrangeur und Pianist im Bereich Theater- und Kammermusik, wie auch beim Rundfunk, Fernsehen und Film tätig. Neben Klaviermusik, Liedern und Kabarett-Songs entstanden Songs und Ballettmusik für mehrere Bühnenmusicals.

Louis Bloom was born in 1931 in Los Angeles. He attended the University of California at Los Angeles from 1949 to 1953, including courses with Lukas Foss. Further he studied composition with Alfred Uhl at the Music Academy of Vienna in Austria from 1955-1958. After that he attended the University of Munich in Germany to study musicology with Thrasybulos Georgiades from 1958-1961. He resides in Munich since 1958 where he is working professionally there as free-lance composer, arranger and pianist since 1962 at theaters and for radio, television and film. His compositions include piano, vocal and chamber music, as well as songs and dance music for stage musicals.
