Quincy C. Hilliard's Kompositionen für Wind Band wurden von zahlreichen großen Musikverlegern veröffentlicht und werden weltweit, wo sich Windbands von britisch-amerikanischer Instrumentation befinden, aufgeführt. Quincy C. Hilliard wird von Dirigenten oft für Auftragsarbeiten gewünscht. Er hat auch bereits acht Mal den begehrten ASCAP-Preis (American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers" gewonnen. Auch aus einer ausgesuchten Gruppe von Komponisten wurde er gewählt, das Stück für die Olympiade 1996 zu schreiben. Dr. Hilliard's ist als hervorragender Dirigent und Ausbildner sehr bekannt und er wird weltweit zu Gastdirigiertätigkeiten und zur Demonstration von wirksamen Lehrtechniken eingeladen. Dr. Hilliard hat auch in Journalpublikationen und Büchern pädagogische Artikel veröffentlicht, die zum Beispiel "Skill Builders Books 1 und 2" und "Theory Concepts Books 1 und 2" einschließen. Er ist auch ein anerkannter Gelehrter der Musik von Aaran Copland. Weiters ist Dr. Hilliard auch Präsident von Hilliard Music Enterprises, Inc., eine persönliche Beratungsfirma. Derzeit ist er Musiktheorie- und Kompositionsprofessor an der Universität von Louisiana in Lafayette.

Quincy C. Hilliard's compositions for wind band are published by several major music publishers, and are performed throughout the world where there are wind bands of British-American instrumentation. His stature as an outstanding composer is apparent as conductors frequently commission him for new compositions and as he has been an eight-time recipient of the distinguished American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) award recognizing the numerous performances of his works. He was also chosen as one of a select group of composers to write a piece for the 1996 Olympics. Dr. Hilliard's stature as an outstanding conductor and educator is equally apparent as he is invited to all parts of the world to conduct, adjudicative festivals, and demonstrate effective teaching techniques. Dr. Hilliard has extensive pedagogical articles in journal publications and books which include Skill Builders Books 1 and 2 (with Andrew Balent as co-author) and Theory Concepts Books 1 and 2 published by Carl Fischer (New York) in the Sounds Spectacular Series. Also, he is a recognized scholar of the music of Aaron Copland. He serves as a consultant/clnician/conductor for the publishers Boosey and Hawkes and Carl Fischer. Dr. Hilliard is also the president of Hilliard Music Enterprises, Inc., a personal consulting firm which has a corporate board of distinguished music educators. He is currently associate professor of music theory and composition at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette and holds the Heymann Endowed Professorhip of Music.
