Andrew Boysen, Jr. begann im Alter von neuen Jahren mit dem Komponieren für Klavier. Er schrieb später für die Konzertband, für vollständiges Orchester, Brasschor, Brassquintett und Hornchor. Seinen "Bachelor of Music degree" machte er an der "University of Iowa", und er schrieb für die "Herbert Hoover Presidential Library" zahlreiche Auftragswerke, genauso wie für die "University of Minnesota-Duluth", die "University of Nebraska", Omaha, die "Cedar Rapids Prairie High School", die "Andrews High School" und für das "Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Orchestra Festival". Er gewann den "University of Iowa Honors Composition Prize" sowie den "Claude T. Smith Memorial Band Composition Contest" für seine Arbeit "I Am".

Andrew Boysen, Jr. began composing for piano at age nine and has written works for concert band, full orchestra, brass choir, brass quintet, and horn choir. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa, and has received commissions from the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library, the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the University of Nebraska, Omaha, Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, Andrews High School, and the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Orchestra Festival. He won the University of Iowa Honors Composition Prize and the 1992 Claude T. Smith Memorial Band Composition Contest for his work "I Am".
