Name: McTee, Cindy (Pseudonym): *: 1953 in: +: in: {D} Cindy McTee arbeitet derzeit als Kompositionsprofessorin an der "University of North Texas". Sie stammt aus einer Amateurmusiker Familie, die ihr Interesse an Musik und Kunst förderte. Im Rahmen ihrer "undergraduate studies" an der "Pacific Lutheran University", verbrachte sie ein Jahr mit Krysztof Penderecki in Polen. Sie verdankt Penderecki sowohl musikalische wie auch professionellen Einfluß. Anschließend führte sie ihre Studien fort und machte an der "Yale University" ein "master's degree" und erhielt an der "University of Iowa" einen Doktor der Philosophie und Musikkomposition. Sie machte sich in den größten amerikanischen Orchestern und auch international einen fantastischen Ruf. Zudem schrieb sie viele Auftragswerke und erhielt von der "National Endowment for the Arts" ein Stipendium. 1992 wurde ihre Arbeit von der "American Academy of Arts and Letters" mit dem "Goddard Lieberson Award" ausgezeichnet. {E} Cindy McTee is currently Professor of Music Composition at the University of North Texas. She is from a family of amateur musicians who encouraged her interest in music and the arts. In the course of her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University, she spent a year in Poland studying with Krysztof Penderecki. She credits Penderecki as both a musical and a professional influence. She continued her studies, earning a master's degree from Yale University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Composition from the University of Iowa. Professionally, she has developed an excellent reputation with performances by major American and international orchestras. She has also received several prestigious commissions, including a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
