O'Carolan, Turlough * 1670 + 1738 Er war der bedeutendsde irische Harfenspieler, der trotz seiner Erblindung weite Teile Irlands bereiste. Seine Musik vermischt Einflüsse der italienischen Barockmusik, insbesondere vivaldi, mit traditionellen irischen Tänzen.

He was the most famous Irish harpinist. Although he was blind he visited most parts of Ireland. His music combines traditional Irish dance music with influences of Italian baroque music, especially of music by Vivaldi.
