Additional information: The music of the Macedonian folklore has much in common with that of the neighboring Balkans but maintains its distinctive musical traits that help to create a unique sound and character. Danze macedoni (Macedonian Dances) is a composition divided into four different movements, each of them based on a traditional Macedonian folk song:

  • 1st Movement: Allegro (More Sokol Pie)

  • 2nd Movement: Adagio (Makedonsko Devojche)

  • 3rd Movement: Allegro (Ej more Doncho Meraklija)

  • 4th Movement: Presto (Dimna Juda)


The interesting rhythmic variety and beautiful harmonies typical of these dances were woven into a single composition in which the author has tried to recreate the charming atmosphere of the music of this area of the Balkan Peninsula.
