Zusatzinformation: ~A Night at the Musicals is a selection of four exquisite passages from four equally famous musicals. Just like in the original musicals, it is a sequence of romantic melodies, drama and entertainment.
1. A New Life from Jekyll and Hyde
Jekyll & Hyde is a rousing gothic musical based on the classic novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.  Murder and chaos run rampant and evil lurks around every corner, but love and virtue put up a strong fight in this engaging thriller.  Dr. Henry Jekyll, pursuing his life-long quest, endeavors to separate the two natures of man. Refused help by his peers and superiors, he begins experiments on himself with his formula. He meets with success, and shocking results.  The evil nature of Dr. Jekyll surfaces as a separate identity: Edward Hyde. Hyde begins murdering the members of the Board of Governors who previously refused assistance to Jekyll's cause. Meanwhile Jekyll fights in vain to keep his darker half under control.  Caught in the cross-fire of this epic internal struggle are Jekyll's fiancée, Emma Carew, her father, Sir Danvers and Jekyll's best friend, John Utterson; and a prostitute named Lucy, who becomes entangled with Hyde. Lucy Harris is  the main attraction at The Red Rat. Utterson visits Lucy at The Red Rat with a letter from Jekyll that entreats her to leave town and start a new life elsewhere. After Utterson leaves, Lucy wonders of the possibilities ahead  in the song A New Life.  In this song Lucy dreams about a new start, a new hope, a new chance, a new dream, a new love, a new world and eventually a new life.
2. Only love uit The Scarlet Pimpernel
The Scarlet Pimpernel is a musical with music by Frank Wildhorn. The show is set in England and France during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. The play opens at La Comédie Française, where Marguerite St. Just is performing in her final show and announces to the crowd her marriage to a wealthy English aristocrat, a fanatical agent of the French republican revolutionaries. The theatre closes before the performance is finished.
3. The Girl I Meant to be from The Secret Garden
The story of The Secret Garden is set in the early years of the 20th century. Mary Lennox, a young English girl born and raised in the British Raj, is orphaned by a cholera outbreak when she is ten years old. She is sent away from India to live in the manor of a brooding uncle she has never met in Yorkshire, England, where her personality blossoms among the other residents of the manor as they bring new life to a long-neglected garden. Mary has a reverie about her loved ones and her desire for the garden to offer her privacy and the chance to discover herself in The Girl I Mean to Be.
4. Conga from Wonderful Town
The finale is the Conga from the musical Wonderful Town by Leonard Bernstein. This is a musical in a lighter style than his famous West Side Story or Candide and tells the story of the sisters Ruth and Eileen Sherwood who travel through New York in search of love and fortune. In the Conga they teach everyone the famous South American dance.
