Additional information: ~Sommer, Sonne und Strand – dieses unbeschwerte Lebensgefühl vermittelte 1964 die schwarze Gesangsgruppe „The Drifters" mit ihrem Song „Under the Boardwalk" (zu Deutsch in etwa: „An der Strandpromenade“). Lateinamerikanisch angehauchte Rhythmen in eher mäßigem Tempo verleihen dem Song eine sonnig-entspannte Urlaubsatmosphäre, von der dementsprechend auch im Gesangstext die Rede ist. Ein Zwischenspiel ‚mexikanischer‘ Trompeten in parallelen Terzen betont das exotische Flair des Ganzen zusätzlich.
Stefan Schwalgin hat seine Bearbeitung als Solo für Flügelhorn konzipiert. Die Tonlage für den Solisten ist dabei fast so bequem wie das Liegen in einem Strandkorb. Also: Entspannung pur für alle Beteiligten – natürlich einschließlich Ihres Publikums!
