Text information: Born in Port Huron, Michigan in 1948, Paul Curnow has been actively involved in and enjoyed music all his life. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and taught music at Kearsly High School in Flint, Michigan. At the University of Denver he earned a Master’s degree in composition and conducting. He later taught at the University of Denver and at California State University in San Bernardino, California.

Paul has been active in community performing groups as well. He co-founded, and was the principal conductor of the Rocky Mountain Brassworks, a brass band which still performs in the Colorado region. He has led church vocal and instrumental music, and has been the guest conductor at numerous music institutes.

Paul has written for concert bands, brass bands, jazz bands, vocal ensembles, string ensembles, and stage musicals. He is a member of ASCAP.
