Silvester Levay ist gebürtiger Ungar. Er kam Anfang der sechziger Jahre nach Deutschland, wo er für Michael Kunze als Arrangeur und Komponist arbeitete. 1975 gelang beiden der Durchbruch mit dem Welthit Fly, Robin, Fly für den sie mit einem GRAMMY - dem "Oscar" der nordamerikanischen Schallplattenindustrie - ausgezeichnet wurden. Weitere Plattenerfolge stellten sich ein. Als sich sein Freund und Partner Michael Kunze aus der Branche zurückzog, begann Levay, sich auf Filmmusik zu spezialisieren. Dabei verschafften ihm seine klassische Ausbildung und seine Erfahrung als Pop- und Rock-Musiker rasch internationale Anerkennung, Seit zehn Jahren lebt und arbeitet er in Hollywood, wo George Lukas und Michael Douglas zu seinen Auftraggebern gehören. Unter vielen anderen schrieb er die Musik zu den Filmen Cobra, Navy Seals und Hot Shots.

Silvester Levay is born in Hungary. He came to Germany at the beginning of the sixties, where he worked for Michael Kunze as an arrangeur and componist. 1975 they had a breakthrough with their world hit Fly, Robin, Fly, forwhich they were honoured with the GRAMMY - the "Oscar" for the northamerican recordindustry. In the following, they achieved several record successes. When his friend and partner Michael Kunze retired from this business, Levay began to specialise in making film music. His classical education and his experience as a pop- and rockmusician was met with approval very soon world wide. For ten years he is living now in Hollywood, where George Lukas and Michael Douglas are one his customers. Amongst many others he wrote the music to the films Cobra, Navy Seals and Hot Shots.

Silvester Levay, il est né en Hongrie. Il est arrivé en Allemagne au début des années 60 où il a travaillé pour Michael Kunze en tant qu'arran-geur et compositeur. En 1975, tous deux ont réussi à "percer" grace au hit international "Fly, Robin, Fly" pour lequel on leur a décerné un Grammy - l'OSCAR de l'industrie phonogra-phique d'Amérique du Nord. Il n'y a pas eu d'autres succés par la suite. Lorsque son ami et associé, Michael Kunze, s'est retiré de la branche, Levay a commencé à se spécialiser dans la musique de film Grace à sa formation de musique classique et grace à ses connaissances en tant que musicien de musiques rock et pop, il a eu vite fait d'etre reconnu interna-tionalement. Il vit et travaille à Hollywood depuis dix ans. Georges Lukas et Michael Douglas font partie de sa clientèle: Il a écrit entre autres la musique des films Cobra, Navy Seals et Hot Shots.
