Die trendsetzenden Bandkompositionen von James Swearingen haben auf die Schulmusikszene bereits seit einigen Jahren einen großen Einfluß. Weltweit wurde seine Musik von Musikstudenten begeistert aufgenommen. "Jim" Swearingen's Talent als Aufführer, Komponist, Arrangeur und Ausbildner beinhaltet im Hintergrund auch ausführlichstes Training und Erfahrung. Er erhielt ein Diplom an der Bowling Green State University und an der Ohio State University. Nach einer erfolgreichen Karriere als Direktor der Instrumentalen Musik in Grove City, Ohio nahm er die Position als "Associate Professor of Music and Department Chair of Music Education" an der University in Columbus, Ohio an. Zusätzlich zu seiner Verantwortung als Lehrer nimmt Jim jährlich eine Anzahl von Kommissionen von Schulen im ganzen Land an. Er arbeitet auch als Mitglied und Arrangeur mit der "Ohio State University Marching Band". Sein Terminplan schließt auch viele Gastauftritte als Dirigent und Vorträge ein.

The trend setting band compositions of James Swearingen have had a major impact on the school music scene for a number of years. His music has been enthusiastically received by student musicians around the world. "Jim" Swearingen's talents as a performer, composer/arranger, and educator include a background of extensive training and experience. He has earned degrees from Bowling Green State University and The Ohio State University. Following a successful career as Director of Instrumental Music in Grove City, Ohio he accepted the position of Associate Professor of Music and Department Chair of Music Education at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Jim annually accepts a number of commissions from schools throughout the country, as well as serving as a staff member and arranger with The Ohio State University Marching Band. His schedule also includes many guest conducting appearances and music dealer clinic presentations.
