Árpád Balázs wurde 1937 in Szentes geboren und wurde besonders für seine zahlreichen Chorkompositionen bekannt. Er erhielt seine musikalische Ausbildung am "Szeged Conservatoire" und er beendete das Studium der Komposition 1964 an der "Budapest Academy of Music" bei Ferenc Farkas. Mit Hilfe eines Stipendiums vervollständigte er sein Studium 1967 in Moskau bei Aram Chatchaturian und 1970 in Rom bei Goffredo Petrassi. Er ist ein freischaffender Komponist, eine geehrtes Mitglied der "Warsaw International Chopin Society" und er ist auch der Vizepräsident des "Hungarian Centre" ASSITEJUNESCO. Er gewann vielzählige Preise des OIRT, der Internationalen Organisation von Radio und TV der sozialistischen Länder.

Known primarily for his numerous choral compositions, Árpád Balázs was born at Szentes in 1937. He started his music studies at the Szeged conservatoire and graduated as a composer in 1964 at the Budapest Academy of Music under Ferenc Farkas. With scholarship he completed his studies 1967 in Moscow with Aram Chatchaturian and 1970 in Rome with Goffredo Petrassi. He is a freelance composer, honarary member of the Warsaw International Chopin Society and vice-president of the Hungarian Centre of ASSITEJUNESCO. He won several competitions of OIRT, the International Organisation of Radio and Television of the socialist countries.
