Curt Mahr ist Absolvent der Akademie für Musik. Von 1928 bis 1950 war er als Akkordeonvirtuose tätig. Seit 1950 lebt er in Wiesbaden, wo er sich ausschließlich dem kompositorischen und pädagogischen Schaffen widmet. Er schrieb ca. 350 Originalkompositionen und über 1000 Arrangements. Seine Unterrichtswerke, die richtungsweisend für den Akkordeonunterricht sind, erreichten zum Teil Auflagen von über 200 000 Exemplaren.

Curt Mahr is a graduate of the Academy of Music and he has been working as an accordion virtuoso from 1928-1950, residing in Wiesbaden, Germany. Mr. Mahr has dedicated himself exclusively to composing and to pedagogical activities, turning out 350 original compositions and over 1000 arrangements. As many as 200 000 copies have been printed of many of his instructive works, which are outstanding for accordion instruction.
