Nach dem Studium an der Guildhall School of Music (Fächer: Klarinette, Klavier und Komposition) begann James Raes Konzertkarriere, die von Kammermusik bis zu Theateraufführungen reicht, einschließlich regelmäßiger Konzerte und Rundfunkaufnahmen mit dem Phoenix Saxophone Quartet. After studying the clarinet, piano and composition at the Guildhall School of Music James Rae's concert career spans from Chamber to theatre performances, including regular concerts and broadcasts of The Phoenix Saxophone Quartet. He has teaching schedules in a number of schools and his later compositions include "Satie for Saxophone", Debussy "Album for Saxophone" and a book of Modern Saxophone Studies, which have been set by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and The Guildhall School of Music for examination purposes.
