Jerry Goldsmith erhielt zahlreiche akademische Auszeichnungen, genauso wie auch die "Emmy" Preise. Seine Filmmusik wurde ebenfalls des öfteren mit Nominierungen ausgezeichnet. Goldsmith hat sich als Dirigent der "Southern California Chamber Symphony", dem "Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London", der "Union Musiche di Roma", dem "Curt Granke Orchestra" in München und der "U.S. Air Force Band" einen großen Namen gemacht.
