William Earl Rhoads machte sein "degree in education" an der "University of Michigan". Später diente er dann während des 2. Weltkrieges im "U.S. Signal Corps" und nach dem Ausscheiden wurde er zum Banddirektor aller öffentlichen Schulen in Alamogordo, New Mexico ernannt. 1953 wurde er dann Banddirektor der "University of New Mexico", wo er auch im Vorstand der Musikabteilung vertreten war. Über 100 Stücke von ihm sind veröffentlicht worden. Dazu zählen Arbeiten für Band, Orchester, Windensemble, sowie Lehrbücher für Alt- und Bassklarinette. Als Jurymitglied, Vortragender und Dirigent war er in ganz USA und Kanada aktiv und mit Preisen und Auszeichnungen geehrt.

William Earl Rhoads received a degree in Education from the University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Signal Corps during World War II, and after his discharge he was appointed Director of Bands in the Alamogordo, New Mexico public schools. In 1953, he became Director of Bands at the University of New Mexico, also serving as Chairman of the Music Department from 1973 to 1977. He published over 100 works for band, orchestra, and wind ensemble, and study books for the alto and bass clarinet. He was active as an adjudicator, clinician, and conductor throughout the United States and Canada, and was the recipient of many ASCAP awards.
