Marco Somadossi wurde 1968 in Rovereto geboren. Er studierte am "F.A. Bonporti" Conservatory in Trento Musik, wo er bei Prof. Resch das Fach Posaune und bei Maestro Carnevali das Fach Bandinstrumentierung belegte. Nach seinen Instrumentalstudien mit verschiedenen Musiklehrern (Mineo, Lomuto, Migliardi, Sanfilippo, Becquet und Slokar) arbeitete er in verschiedenen Orchestern und Kammermusikensembles (Milan's "Pomeriggi musicali", "Cameristi di Verona", "Accademia Filarmonica Trentina", "APM Brass Ensemble", "En Chamade", "Sudtiroler Blaserensemble", "Symphonic Winds", etc). Er war auch Mitglied des "Orchestra Giovanile Italiana", der "Junge Schweizer Philarmonie" und der "Youth Symphonic Band of the European Communities". Weiters besuchte er Kurse und Seminare auf dem Gebiet der Banddirektion, unter der Leitung von Maestros Daniele Carnevali, Marco Tamanini, Luigi Lombardi, Jaap Koops, Jan van der Roost, Jan Cober, Hardy Mertens, Felix Hauswirth und Franco Cesarini. Als Direktor des "Mario Mascagni" Musical Ensemble in Bozen wurde ihm 1995 in der Stufe 3 beim ""Flicorno d'oro"" International Contest in Riva di Garda der zweite Preis verliehen. 1997 erzielte er in der Stufe 2 mit den Noten 91, 92/100 den dritten Preis. Während dieses Wettbewerbes zeichnete er sich als hervorragender Dirigent aus. Er ist Mitglied der "WASBE Italy ‚Conference Repertoire List' commission". Für seine Komposition "SAH" wurde ihm anlässlich der "ARGE ALP" (International Band Music Composition Contest" der zweite Preis verliehen. Seine Werke wurden weiters am "3 Festival International pour Orchestre d'Harmonie" in Ollioules (Frankreich) und am "Mirandola Musicale" Festival vorgestellt. Weiters erwähnenswert ist noch die Gründung der "Trentino Wind Band", das auf sein Konto geht und deren Mitglied und künstlerischer Leiter er ist.

After continuing his instrumental studies with various music teachers (Mineo, Lomuto, Migliardi, Sanfilippo, Becquet and Slokar), he worked with several orchestras and Chamber music ensembles (Milan's "Pomeriggi musicali", the "Cameristi di Verona", "Accademia Filarmonica Trentina", "APM Brass Ensemble", "En Chamade", "Sudtiroler Blaserensemble", "Symphonic Winds", etc). As director of the "Mario Mascagni" Musical Ensemble of Bolzano, he was awarded second prize in class 3 at the "Flicorno d'oro" International Contest held in Riva di Garda in 1995 and third prize in class 2 in the 1997 edition, with marks of 91, 92/100. During the course of this contest he distinguished himself as conductor and was unanimously voted best conductor in his class and came third overall in 1995. He is a member of the "WASBE" Italy "Conference Repertoire List" commission. He was awarded second prize for his musical composition "SAH" at the "ARGE ALP" International Band Music Composition Contest. His compositions were presented at the "3 Festival International pour Orchestre d'Harmonie" held in Ollioules (France) and at the "Mirandola Musicale" Festival and are published by Scomegna, Turin. He founded the "Trentino Wind Band", of which he is member and artistic director.
