Doug Ordunio wurde in Glendale, California 1950 geboren. Sein erstes Interesse an der Musik war das Singen und 1969 nachdem er mehrere Jahre Gesang studierte, begann er mit der Komposition. Seine Lehrer waren Aurelio de la Vega, Frank Campo und Leonard Berkowitz. Er studierte hauptsächlich am Glendale College und an der California State University in Northridge. Er ist seit 1974 bei der Radio Station KFAC in Los Angeles tätig. Seine Kompositionstätigkeit hat sich auf 3 Schwerpunkte konzentriert: Chormusik, Kammermusik und elektronische Musik. Er ist auch am Studium der mitteraltlichen Musik und der Renaissancemusik interessiert.

Doug Ordunio was born in Glendale, California, in 1950. His first interest in music was singing and in 1969 after several years of vocal study, he began to compose. His teachers have included Aurelio de la Vega, Frank Campo and Leonard Berkowitz. The majority of his musical study took place at Glendale College and California State University, Northridge. He has been in charge of FM programming at Radio Station KFAC, Los Angeles, since 1974. His compositional output has centred in three areas: choral music, chamber music and electronic music. He also has a great interest in the study of Medieval and Renaissance music.
