Nelhybel's großes Talent wurde auch beim "Radio Prag" erkannt. Man engagierte ihn noch während seiner Studienzeit am Prager Musikkonservatorium als Komponist und Dirigent. Später wurde er dann beim Schweizer Radiosender aktiv und zog jedoch 1957 nach New York, wo er noch heute als Komponist, Vortragender und Dirigent großes Ansehen genießt.

Vaclav Nelhybel is a composer and conductor, well known for his works for band, as well as ballets, operas, and much chamber music. He studied at the University and Conservatory in Prague. Later he studied musicology at Fribourg University. He held various conducting posts including the Czech. Philharmonic, Swiss Radio, and Radio Free Europe. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1957.
