Text information: In der Oper “L’Elisir d’amore” (Der Liebestrank), 1832 in Mailand erstmals aufgeführt, liebt der schüchterne, junge Bauer Nemorino die hübsche und reiche Adina, die sich jedoch zunächst nichts aus ihm macht. Nemorino glaubt an die Wirkung des Liebestranks, den ihm der Quacksalber Dulcamara verkaufte und singt die Romanze: “Una furtiva lagrima negl’occhi suoi spunto...” (Heimlich aus ihrem Auge sich eine Träne stahl...”). Auch in Luigi di Ghisallos Fassung für Blasorchester hat diese Arie nichts vom Schmelz des Belcanto verloren. – Es muß sicher nicht weiter betont werden, daß Adina und Nemorino sich in der Oper doch noch finden.
