Die Sängerin Dame Vera Lewis-Welch, besser bekannt als Vera Lynn, trat mit den Bands von Joe Loss, Charlie Kunz und Ambrose auf. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges inspirierte sie Tausende von britischen Soldaten und wurde dann auch Sweetheart Of The Forces (Geliebte der Armee) genannt. In den fünfziger Jahren präsentierte sie verschiedene eigene Fernsehshows für die B.B.C. Willy Hautvast bearbeitete vier von ihren größten Erfolge: We'll Meet Again, Now Is The Hour, From The Time You Say Goodbye und The White Cliffs Of Dover.
