Additional information: Ode an die Freude ist die Chorfinale von der 9. Symphonie von Van Beethoven aus 1823, auf das Gedicht aus 1785 von Friedrich von Schiller. Während der Olympischen Spiele von 1956, 1960 und 1964 wurde die Ode an die Freude schon als Hymne für das deutsche Team gespielt und 1972 wählte der Europäische Rat diese Ode als Hymne aus. 1985 wurde sie durch die Regierungschefs der Europäischen Union als offizielle Hymne für die Europäische Union ausgewählt
