Anregung zu dieser Komposition, die einen Festtag in Neapel beschreibt, bot ein Urlaub des Komponisten in Su¨ditalien. Nach der festlichen Eröffnung erklingt eine Art Serenade. Kaum ist eine vorbeimarschierende Parade verklungen, beginnt der Tanz.
