Additional information: Polka schnell, Op. 45 Eduard Strauss ist der jüngste der drei Söhne Johann Strauss Seniors. Er erhielt eine gründliche musikalische Ausbildung und begann dann als Violinspieler. Ab 1855 war er Harfenist des Strauss-Orchesters. Er wurde besonders als Dirigent bekannt und obwohl er über 250 Werke geschrieben hat, ist er als Komponist nicht so bedeutend wie seine beiden ältern Brüder.
