Additional information: Nach dem Vorbild von Chopin komponierte Claude Debussy (22.8.1862 - 25.3.1918) mehrere Klavierstücke, die er Preludes nannte. Debussy, ein Schüler von Emile Durand und Cesar Franck, gab jedem Prelude einen besonderen Titel. Das vorliegende Prelude nannte er "La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin" (das Mädchen mit den blonden Haaren). Gerade bei den Werken Debussys wird darauf Bedacht genommen, den Titel der Komposition erst im Nachhinein einer Aufführung zu nennen, um jeder Kategorisierung in "Programmmusik" zu entkommen. Die Musik will keine Beschreibung von außermusikalischen Inhalten sein sondern ganz für sich allein stehen.
