Caroline Alice Roberts widmete das Gedicht The Wind at Dawn ihrem geliebten Edward Elgar. Und er komponierte für sie seinen Liebesgruss, ein kurzes Meisterwerk, das später unter dem französischen Titel Salut d'amour berühmt wurde. Salut d'Amour ist ein klassisches Meisterwerk für Blasorchester von Jan Molenaar.
