„New Spirit“ – Ein Konzertstück, welches allen Musikvereinen in Österreich und darüber hinaus gewidmet ist. Das Stück soll Mut geben, nach schwierigen Zeiten wie wir sie im Jahr 2020 gerade erleben, wieder mit neuer Kraft und neuem Elan durchzustarten und das gemeinsame Musizieren nach langer Zeit wieder zu genießen und zu (er)leben.
Die Blechbläser eröffnen dieses Werk mit einem feurigen Fanfarenthema, welches anschließend in einen lebhaften und dynamischen Teil übergeht. Holz- und Blechbläser wechseln sich mit ihren charakteristischen Melodien ab und stellen das gesellige und heitere Leben im Musikverein dar. Dass es im Leben eines Musikers auch Zeiten gibt, in denen es etwas ruhiger ist, beschreibt der melodiöse Choral im Mittelteil des Stücks, welcher in eine „Hymne“ mündet. Eine Hymne, die neuen Mut („New Spirit“) und Entschlossenheit verkörpern soll, den Blick immer positiv und optimistisch in die Zukunft zu richten.

„New Spirit“ – A concert piece dedicated to all music associations in Austria and beyond. The piece is meant to give courage to start again with new strength and verve after difficult times like we are experiencing in the year 2020 and to enjoy and experience making music together again after a long time.
The brass open this work with a fiery fanfare theme, which then moves into a lively and dynamic section. Woodwinds and brass alternate with their characteristic melodies, depicting the convivial and cheerful life in the Musikverein. That there are also times in a musician’s life when things are a little quieter is described by the melodious chorale in the middle section of the piece, which leads into a „hymn“.
A hymn that is supposed to embody new courage („New Spirit“) and determination to always look positively and optimistically into the future.
