Additional information: Variations on a Fourth wurde für ein innovatives Projekt geschrieben, das vom Siena Wind Orchestra aus Tokio initiiert wurde. Vier europäische und vier japanische Komponisten schufen jeweils ein neues Blasorchesterstück für ein besonderes Konzert, das am 15. Juni 2019 in der Bunkyo Civic Concert Hall stattfand, in dem alle acht Werke – die am Tag zuvor für eine CD-Veröffentlichung aufgenommen wurden – aufgeführt wurden. Variations on a Fourth umfasst vier Variationen, deren melodisches und harmonisches Material das musikalische Intervall einer Quarte enthält. Das Ergebnis ist ein sehr reizvolles viersätziges Werk, das große Spielfreude bereitet!
